Today, our band performs regularly at outdoor and indoor events and venues across Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania. After many years apart, we're having a lot of fun hanging out again and making music together. As a bonus, we've had the opportunity to do what we love in front of great audiences across the region.
DangerBird performs hard edged, tight covers of classic rock and blues. You know, the tunes you know and love, but don't hear every day. We do our best to mix up our tunes so you don't get the same genre and groove over and over again.
Check out our upcoming gigs and be sure to join us at a venue near you!
2018 has been a busy year...
DangerBird drummer, Jim Sturdevant, and guitarist, Laith Wardi-along with Buffalo's very own Earl Irving-backed up Chicago blues legend, Jimmy Burns, at Room 33 on April 21st. Jimmy brought his musical mojo to Erie for one special night. Jimmy played his own brand of blues as well as the standards. Room 33 was standing room only and there was great support for Jimmy and the blues! By the way, Room 33 is a great venue. Stop by on November 3rd to see us there!
DangerBird appeared for the second time during Edinboro's Art and Music Festival. The Edinboro Hotel Bar was jammed most of the night and we closed the place down. We'll be back there again this fall! Great venue and crowds there consistently.
DangerBird played two 3 hour shows for The Erie Regional Chamber's Beer on the Bay. Earl Irving handled bass duties while our good friend, Steve Chapel, added sax riffs throughout the day. During the first show, we had the privilege of playing with our good friend and harmonic player extraordinaire, Otis James. This year, the weather cooperated. It was a record attendance with lots of excellent beer and food from vendors all over the region. We'll see you at Beer on the Bay again in 2019! We are confirmed for a third year.
DangerBird is also confirmed for the North East Wine Fest again this year. Like Beer on the Bay, this is a fantastic regional event that is always fun to play. Thanks to Mike Lotz for this opportunity. Speaking of Mike...had the opportunity to play with him in Edinboro during the summer when our regular bassist couldn't make the gig.
This summer, we played our mainstay gigs at Mazza Wines, Warren's Music in the Park as well as The Kinzua Tango. Our good friend and awesome harp player, Otis James, appeared with us at Warren's Music in the Park. Expect to see him in North East.
We also made our first stop at Girard's Music in the Park. We had a large crowd there.
DangerBird band members backed up Jamestown's very own country crooner, Bryan Moore, this summer on a few indoor and outdoor gigs. Bryan plays a solid mix of country...from classics and the newer stuff. Country is cool...
